Q. What is the timing for the Art of Hearing God (AOHG) Course?
A. The AOHG Course starts on a Thursday evening promptly at 7.30 p.m. Registration starts from 6.30 p.m. On Friday and Saturday, the morning starts at 09.00 and goes through to 13.00. The afternoon re-starts at 14.00 until the dinner break at 17.30 (usually 2 hours). The evening session starts at 19.30 and goes through to 21.00. There are breaks for coffee, lunch, tea and dinner throughout the day.
Q. What are the timings for the ‘Understanding Dreams and Visions’ Course?
A. In the past the Understanding Dream and Visions Course started at 9.00 a.m. on a Friday morning. Registration was from 8.00 a.m. Sessions take place in the morning, the afternoon and into the evening on the Friday and Saturday, with breaks for coffee, lunch (usually an hour), tea and dinner (usually 1.5 hours). We are currently experimenting with a schedule which is more in line with the Art Of Hearing God Course schedule - see above - because of additional teaching material inserted into the Dreams Course by John Paul.
Q. Are there any other Streams Courses?
A. Yes! There is a new Course called ‘Living the Spiritual Life’, launched in 2011 in Dallas, Texas, the home of Streams Ministries. It was written and then taught by John Paul Jackson. Called ‘Living the Spiritual Life’ it will not be available in the UK until 2013 at the earliest. John Paul is also revising some earlier courses and writing new ones. Keep your eyes on our website or go to www.streamsministries.com to find out the latest news on new Courses.
Q. Will John Paul Jackson be teaching the Course?
A. No! John Paul very rarely teaches any of his Courses outside Dallas, USA. All Streams Training Centre Teachers have been trained by John Paul and other Streams Instructors either in the USA or in the UK.
Q. Are the Courses just solid teaching?
A. No! Each Course also has practical exercises and homework assignments which not only are stimulating and challenging, but also great fun during the Course.
Q. Do I need to attend every session on a Course?
A. If you want to go on to do other Courses, then the answer is yes! If it is impossible for you to do that, then contact us by phone or email (see above) about how you could catch up. Your details will not be entered on the database at Streams Ministries, however, until you have completed the entire Course.
Q. Is there anything the price of the Course doesn’t include?
A. Meals and any accommodation required are NOT included in the price of the Course. When you book online, we send you an email to confirm your booking, which includes suggestions of where to stay when the Courses run at the Streams Training Centre England venue in Cheltenham.
Q. Can I record the Course?
A. No. You cannot record the teaching that takes place on the Course. All Streams Courses are subject to international copyright law.
Q. Can I buy the Course manual for a friend?
A. No. Only people who have taken the Course can have the manuals. During all Streams Courses there will be other teaching cds/dvds and books for sale which you can buy for yourself or your friends.
Q. Can I take the ‘Understanding Dreams and Visions’ Course before the ‘Art of Hearing God’ Course?
A. No. The ‘Art of Hearing God’ Course provides a necessary foundation for all the other Courses. There is a progression in the courses, so the AOHG Course is the ‘gateway’ course to the others.
Q. Do you provide wheelchair access?
A. It is always worth checking with the host church when the courses are held outside Cheltenham and the answer is usually yes. At Cheltenham the answer sadly is no, as the courses are held on the first floor of the Training Centre.
Q. Is there an age limit to attending the Courses?
A. We have had a 12 year old attend and successfully complete the AOHG Course. She sat through all the teaching sessions and took part in the activities, which is unusual! It depends on the maturity of the student. There is no upper age limit. Age does NOT affect the price of the Course.
Q. Is any childcare provided on the courses?
A. No. Please arrange your own childcare. Should a church which is acting as the host for Streams decides to offer child care, it will be made clear on the Student Briefing Notes we email to you when you book in.
Q. What about Sunday if I am staying over in Cheltenham?
A. If your Course is held in Cheltenham at our Training Centre by all means come along to the Bridge Church if you would like to! (10.30 a.m. in the same building!) The Bridge is part of the Association of Bridge Churches, founded by John Paul about six years ago. The Streams Training Centre was launched in 2009 from The Bridge Church and many of its members have done the Courses and a few are Streams Teachers!
